How wonderful to see the sun at last! East Lothian is a beautiful area, but when the sun shines it really comes into it's own. The beaches are some of the best in the country: clean, expansive and with the most spectacular views out over the Forth. North Berwick where I live, buzzes with the excitement of day-trippers and the sun brings a smile to the gloomiest of faces.
All the talk of sun not being good for you, makes me think otherwise when I see what a wonderful effect it has on our immediate environment and the people in it, bring it on I say!
3 HARBOURS FESTIVAL
29th May to 6th June brings us this wonderful festival, a 10 day community arts festival held in Cockenzie, Port Seton and Prestonpans. "Art in unusual places" is the headline for this unique event. Featuring over 250 artists, 80 venues and 50 events including an Opening Night Ceilidh and a Seafood Banquet.
If you are interested in checking it out log on to their web site www.3harbours.co.uk
I will be showing some work at this event so please come along and support me.
I am off to Washington DC for the whole of July, staying with my lovely friend Saritha. Never having been to the States before I can only imagine that this will be an experience beyond my own dreams. Apart from being able to see The White House and The Pentagon I can't wait to check out the many art galleries. Gosh I am so excited!
In the meantime however I am continuing to work on the first of my books in The Robbie series, you can see a preview of this on the page: Robbie's Space Adventure. I am still working on the font and perfecting the drawings but I am very pleased with the results so far and the feedback I've had on it has been great.
Well I am off to go and enjoy this wonderful sunshine with my two girls, a picnic on the beach, what a lovely way to spend a day off.
Take care, have fun and when life gives you lemons make lemonade!
